Pronouns: A Safer Space Discussion

It's one of the first things we ask you every week, and one of the most personal. Why do you use the pronouns you do? More than one set or no preference at all? Does this change at all depending who you're talking to, what space you're in? Come kvetch with us about that one person who just won't accept singular they.

Schedule Note: the Center will be closed for the holidays 25 December and 1 January; our next meeting after this will be in three weeks, on 8 January 2014.

Wednesday, December 18, 7:00pm to 8:15pm
Center on Halsted, 2nd Floor (ask for room number at reception desk)

3656 N. Halsted St.

Genderqueer Chicago is as safe a space as we can make it. To help with this, we have some working agreements that we would like all who come to meetings to keep in mind while within our safe space meetings. Please check out our working agreements here.

Safe space meetings are strictly closed to researchers and reporters in their professional capacities. Meetings are open to anyone else wanting to talk and think about gender! For more info, give us a shout at genderqueerchicago@gmail.com!

Home for the Holidays: a safer space discussion

Home can be either a physical place or a state of mind. There's more than one way to celebrate the season, if you choose to at all. What are you doing - or will you be doing - this holiday season? What are you dreading, looking forward to, or just feeling a bit funny about?

Wednesday, December 11, 7:00pm to 8:15pm
Center on Halsted, 2nd Floor (ask for room number at reception desk)
