Names: A Safer Space Discussion

34
What's in a name? A whole lot. Names are such an enormous part of our identity. Our names let people know who we are. For transgender people all over the spectrum, binary and genderqueer alike, the names we are given at birth or during our childhood simply do not match our identities. So for many of us, we pick new names. Sometimes we pick a multitude of names. How do we pick those names? What do our names mean to us? What does our relationship with our given name look like?

Wednesday, October 28th, 7:00pm to 8:15pm

Genderqueer Chicago is as safe a space as we can make it. To help with this, we have some working agreements that we would like all who come to meetings to keep in mind while within our safe space meetings. Please check out our working agreements here
